This engaging family-strengthening program has proven successful with all kinds of families because it uses a self-discovery and adult-learner approach. Families come away with new ways of thinking, new skills, new attitudes, and the commitment to make their family successful.
Open Gym Time
This drop-in program is for families to experience gross motor activities together. This works toward developing coordination and balance, brain function, and self-regulation.
Various parenting courses are offered. Courses focus on parents learning to foster and enrich their children's social, language and literacy development.
Support Group Facilitation
High School and Junior High School Support Groups are offered based upon needs and interests of students at each school. The support groups offer peer to peer support while facilitated by a trained FCSS staff member.
Drop in and Play. Stay for 30 minutes or for a few hours for an open play, unstructured play time. Meet, greet and play in a friendly, unstructured environment. This program offers a perfect opportunity for parents and caregivers to get to know each other, while introducing children, 0-5 years of age the joys of shared play.
Triple P Discussion Group - Dealing with Disobedience
Do you have a child who is disobedient & not listening? Having a never-ending struggle with not following directions? Triple P helps you develop a personal plan to prevent disobedience, teach limits, and manage disobedience when necessary.

A play group for families with children ages 0-5 years. A time to play, create, sing, and be together * Registration is Required.
Objective of Program: To enrich and extend the amount and variety of services we provide with the assistance of volunteers – by acting as a liaison between programs, community and volunteers. The volunteer program is designed to provide support to FCSS programs by providing leadership to volunteers. This encompasses the recruitment, training and placement of volunteers who have been interviewed and understand their role. Work experience and practicum students find opportunities to become familiar with the workplace setting.

A fun interactive program dedicated to ESL (English as a Second Language) participants, for parent and child (birth to 5-year-old).
Triple P - Seminar 3 "Raising Resilient Children"
How can you help your child manage their emotions so they cope well with disappointment and in stressful situations? Get the strategies that will allow them to recognize positive and negative emotions - and deal with them in a healthy way.
Tax Return Clinic
Trained volunteers offering FREE assistance with tax returns to individuals, families, seniors with modest income and simple tax situations, who meet the income criteria.
Parent Preschool Program (PPP)
A partnership program with Lethbridge College and PPP parents. Emphasizes early childhood development and care. Click for registration information.
Developmental Check-ups (ASQ)
Parents complete an age-appropriate questionnaire about their child's development. The check-ups provide parents with support and information about their child's development. To learn more click.
Triple P - Seminar 1 "The Power of Positive Parenting"
For every parent who ever wondered: "Why does my child do that?" This seminar helps you understand the reasons kids do what they do, so you can guide their behaviour - and see more of the behaviour you like, and less of the behaviour you don't like.
Kids Summer Program
For children ages 6-10 years old. Each day will have a different theme. Children will participate in the themed activity; have outdoor playtime and a snack before heading home. Please register for the summer activities your child would like to attend. Only 25 children per day.
Nature Stay & Play
Parents with children 0-5 years of age will explore and experience Nature Play outdoors.
These presentations may involve a variety of topics such as stress, anxiety, bullying, resiliency, self-esteem, healthy relationships and personal responsibility. The presentations are built around the 40 Developmental Assets model to support the development of personal and life skills.

These post-natal classes help new parents learn about the challenges and rewards of parenting as well as the skills needed to help baby grow and develop.

Fun and interactive activities are designed and delivered for communities upon request. Activities are intended to support youth development and encourage healthy family relationships.
This program will be focusing on art through the ages. It will provide an opportunity for kids to be creative while learning the importance of art process vs. product. Each week we will prepare activities that will help foster your child's creativity. children ages 0-10 years of age are welcome. Parents/Caregivers are required to be present for the duration of the program.

Triple P Discussion Group - Hassle Free Shopping with Kids
Do you have a child who melts down while shopping? This discussion topic uses shopping trips as an example of one of the most common times parents have to deal with difficult behaviour in public. Triple P helps you manage your child's behaviour, emoitions, and development in a positive way.

Baby Gym Time is a drop-in program for parents and their children 0-2 years of age. Join us for a fun session of baby friendly activities and self-directed play.
In this course, parents learn massage and how it can calm their baby, promote strong parent-child attachment, stimulate circulatory and digestive systems, improve sleep and more.
What You Do Matters
A six-week series that combines short group discussions followed by parent-child interaction. Each session focuses on a different topic.

Triple P Discussion Group - Bedtime Routines
Do you have a child who won’t go to bed? Are you experiencing a never-ending struggle at bedtime? This discussion topic explores different problems parents commonly face at bedtime and some of the reasons why they happen. Parents are introduced to positive parenting strategies to help prevent problems. All approaches are evidence-based, and parents choose which approach suits them best.
