Strengthening Families in Rural Alberta
The objective of this service is to provide resources, information and support to youth and their parents (or caregivers) as individuals navigate through the teen years.
To achieve this objective FCSS staff offer a variety of community and school programs to assist youth in their day to day lives.
Kaleidoscope - Young Writers Club
A free virtual writing club for youth aged 13-18. Participants learn about different elements of storytelling and writing. New members welcome at any time.
DO Crew JR
A group for motivated youth (ages 11-14) seeking to better their community through volunteer and leadership opportunities. DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD.
Kaleidoscope - Dungeons & Dragons
A free virtual workshops for LGBTQ2S+ youth aged 14-18 to play Dungeons & Dragons. An opportunity to socialize and build new skills.
Youth Counselling and Support
Counselling services offered specifically to youth to assist with the unique needs and struggles which often occur during this time of development.
Taming Worry Dragons
We all experience feelings of worry and fear during our lives, and children are no exception. This programs aims to help children who are affected by worry and anxiety.
True Colours LGBTQ2S+ Creativity & Community Group
A free in-person discussion & art group for 2SLGBTQ+ youth aged 16-19. All art supplies and snacks will be supplied. Funded by the Alberta Family Resource Network.
The group will help youth, ages 11-13, learn successful resilience skills, using a growth mindset and journaling approach.
Kaleidoscope - Art Games Night
A free virtual event for youth aged 13-18 who are interested in playing arts-based games with friends.
Rainbows For All Children
A 8 week program that helps children who are grieving the loss of a parent or guardian due to death, divorce, deployment, or trauma. Parents also attend their own sessions, so they are able to understand their own grief/loss and how to support their child outside of the group.
Kaleidoscope Inclusive Youth Programming provides arts-based programs for youth aged 14 to 18 that are looking for extra supports in their communities.
Information and Referral
Information regarding services is provided. Presentations, individual consultation and referrals can be made on a variety of topics and services can be arranged.
These presentations may involve a variety of topics such as stress, anxiety, bullying, resiliency, self-esteem, healthy relationships and personal responsibility. The presentations are built around the 40 Developmental Assets model to support the development of personal and life skills.
DO GOOD - FEEL GOOD! A leadership opportunity for youth in COALDALE - COALHURST - RAYMOND - TABER. Youth (grade 10-12) will learn through a hands-on experience how to make a difference in their community.
