The objective of the Parenting Program is to enhance parenting skills and abilities through support and education that is accessible to local families.
To achieve this objective, FCSS staff offer parenting programs and support based on the community needs. The parenting program is designed to bring quality parenting information and support to families in their communities in a variety of ways.

Triple P Teen Seminars
Triple P Seminars, in the format of a larger group, are an introduction to Positive parenting. There are three seminars in the Triple P Teen series. You can choose to attend one, two or all three.
Move it! Move it!
This program inspires movement and gross motor skill development through activities and play.
Triple P One on One Support
Triple P – One on One Support for everyday problems. Support that targets the exact parenting problem or issue you are having.
Triple P Fear-Less
Triple P Fear-Less supports parents and helps them to learn strategies for anxiety management. Practitioners introduce parents to information about anxiety and provide positive parenting strategies that support the development and behavior of children with anxiety.
In this course, parents learn massage and how it can calm their baby, promote strong parent-child attachment, stimulate circulatory and digestive systems, improve sleep and more.
Triple P Teen Discussion Groups
A discussion group is a short, small group session run by an accredited Triple P provider. Each session brings together parents who are experiencing the same parenting issues with their teens and offers parents practical advice for tackling specific problem behaviour.
This program offers an opportunity for parents and caregivers to introduce children, 0-5 years of age, to the joys of play.
This community recycling program event offers families the opportunity to both share and benefit with other families within the community.
Information and Referral
Information regarding services is provided. Presentations, individual consultation and referrals can be made on a variety of topics and services can be arranged.
An after-school program for ages 6 and up, to come and build with Lego, allowing them to work on creativity, problem solving and social skills.
ASQ - Developmental Check-ups
Parents complete an age-appropriate questionnaire about their child's development. The check-ups provide parents with support and information about their child's development. To learn more or to fill out a questionnaire on line please click.

Car Seat Clinic
Come have your car seat inspected and properly installed. Receive answers to any questions you may have. Enforcement tickets will NOT be issued.

These post-natal classes help new parents learn about the challenges and rewards of parenting as well as the skills needed to help baby grow and develop.
Triple P Discussion Groups
The discussion topics explore different problems parents commonly face and some of the reasons why they happen. Parents are introduced to positive parenting strategies to help prevent problems. All approaches are evidence-based, and parents choose which approach suits them best.
