FCSS staff offer support, educational workshops and presentations to both seniors and their families (including caregivers). The information and support offered in this program enables seniors to make choices that will improve their health and well being.
This is an intergenerational program connecting seniors with local students to share knowledge and develop local friendships.
The volunteer program is designed to provide support to FCSS programs by providing leadership to volunteers.
Bullying & Harassment Awareness
This discussion focuses on identifying bullying and harassment: the various types, negative ways to use power, emotions and feelings, 5 basic emotional needs, the cycle of hurt and self-care.
Caring for Aging Parents
This presentations will offer helpful tips on caring for aging parents, such as when and how to prepare elderly parents for moving into a seniors care facility/nursing home, and how to best care for parents with dementia.
Stress Management & Conflict Resolution
An interactive presentation will explore how we use The Drama Triangle when experiencing stress or conflict, as well as at least one idea for other options for managing stress or conflict.
Personal Directives & Power of Attorney
This presentation will address the importance of having personal directives and appointing power of attorney for ourselves and our aging parents.

The Brains Response to Stress
We will be discussing the topic of stress and some of the biological components that contribute to the experience of stress. As well as, exploring strategies for effectively managing moments of stress.
These rural conferences are a couple times each year and provide seniors an opportunity to learn, laugh and connect with resources within their community.
