FCSS offers up to 10 free, short-term, goal directed counselling sessions as needed, including:
- Individual (10 years – 75 plus), couples, and family counselling.
- In-person, phone or online video sessions.
- Group programming (7 years – 75 plus).
- Workshops / Seminars.

Specialty Services
FCSS offers free confidential support for agricultural families through individual, couples, and family counselling. Professional counsellors are equipped to assist agricultural families cope with anxiety, stress, suicidal thoughts, and depression. Counsellors can also assist agricultural families navigate transitions on and off the farm and to address family conflict.
Types of Agricultural Families Supported:
- Ranchers and their families;
- Farmers and their families;
- Retired farmers and their families;
- Migrant workers employed in agriculture and their families; and
- Individuals who work in farming operations (i.e. Whole Leaf, Sunrise Poultry, Green Prairie, etc.).
This program is available in-person (or over the phone/online depending on distance) to any agricultural family who needs support in southern Alberta.

FCSS Counselling Services provides 10 free specialized, confidential, supportive, and non-judgmental counselling sessions for first responders (firefighters, police, EMS/EMT providers, Search & Rescue workers) and/or their families who are struggling with Post Traumatic Stress, partner and family conflict, isolation and withdrawl and any other issues resulting from trauma. Sessions are offered in-person but can be made available via phone or online video Our counselling staff will help you understand:
- You aren’t alone.
- Trauma is a normal human response to an abnormal situation.
- Trauma is better understood as an injury to the brain than an illness.
- We are all affected by trauma in different ways, but each us can build a resilience to it.
These services are available to all first responders and their families within our service area.
