Margarita Penner

Margarita joined the FCSS team in 2020. She is uniquely equipped to address the diverse needs of her clients and supervise the Newcomer Services team, based on her diverse academic and professional background. Margarita has worked in the human services field in Mexico, Bolivia, and Canada, and has an academic background that spans theology and history, alongside qualifications in Early Childhood Development from Mexico and Canada.  She is an Accredited Triple P Facilitator, with Level 3 Primary, Level 4 Group, and Level 4 Fearless certifications, as well as the Brain Story Certificate. Margarita is fluent in Low German, German, Spanish, and English, and has been translating and interpreting for over 25 years. As a mother of two and a newcomer to Canada herself, she understands the challenges families face and is deeply passionate about helping them thrive. Margarita provides essential support, information, and referrals, empowering newcomer families and individuals to successfully integrate into their new communities.
